Tonight, I think we had one of the best Saturday night services we have had in a while. First of all we had a packed house which is always nice. The music was freakin' amazing. I thought Ted and Ben did a really great job. The new series is really enjoyable to teach, and the talk felt great.
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, GOD SHOWED UP!! I think He really spoke to some people tonight. I just hope and pray people go home and actually do the homework that we assigned. I know it will change their lives. It certainly changed mine.
Another observation I had about tonight:
The staff all looked rested and ready to go. I could totally tell that they have all had a week off. Everyone looked fresher, more passionate and healthy. I am so glad that we started this church with the tradition of taking the last weekend of the year off. Our staff really needed it. (I needed it.)
Anyway, I am excited I get to teach this talk two more times. I think it is my favorite talk I have given in a while. So I hope and pray that despite the weather people make an effort to come tomorrow because if tonight was any indication, the services on Sunday are going to be STELLAR!!
So I toss up a prayer to you God:
Jesus, thank you for showing up tonight and using our church to help people find peace and find you. We didn't do anything--all the praise goes to you!!
Please show up again tomorrow in an even greater way than tonight. Motivate a ton of broken & hurting people to show up no matter what the weather is like, so they can get the encouragement and direction they need. Amen
I'm going to bed now. See you in church tomorrow. (Jesus is going to be there.)
I really liked your message tonight, well I always like the teaching. Somehow you are able to push me into wanting to get to know Jesus more and living a better life then any other preacher. (Haha I know you don't like that term) Anyway about 2 years ago I was stuck in a nasty rut, a potentially a family destroying rut. Ever since then I have been trying to figure out how I ended up there. I have been a Jesus lover for 11 years now, and my behavior just didn't make any sense to me. After your talk last night I thought about what you said then asked God to open up my eyes to what happened. Today he showed me what happened. To put it very simply if I don't spend enough time doing work for God I seek satisfaction anywhere else I can find it. When I really think about it, the best times in my Christian life is when is when I'm working hard for my Jesus. You know what the cool thing is though? We are finally in a Church where we love serving. At other churches we've attended we may have planted some roots but we never really felt anything we could do would help the church grow, probably because like you've said before, most churches in this country are dying. It is awesome to be part of this church that we feel really really understands Gods heart, and makes it the first priority to go fishin for lost people and introduce them to an unbelievable savior.
And one more thing, one of my favorite parts of the Crossing is that no one really seems to put on their stupid fake church face when they come to church. I LOVE THAT! I was getting really tired of that crap at other churches.
Thank you for all of you hard work Eric and Kelly!!

This week was an amazing talk. Once again one of the best ones I have heard. The message was one I personally really needed to hear. I feel like my life is full of ruts right now. Every time I start to dig out of one I get stuck in another one! This is going to be an amazing series and I am so excited to hear what you have in store for us! I feel like this is gonna be a life changer! Thanks!!

Now that you have shown me changing my "thinking" can bring me out of my "ruts", I can bring it all home through my "obedience" to Christ. What a way to start the New Year! Praise Jesus! Thank you for your awesome teachings that I continually grow with each week. I cannot wait to see what more is in store for me:)
